The Washington Redskins are a professional American football team in the National Football League (NFL) based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The Redskins (or the Skins or the Hogs) compete in the National Football Conference (NFC) East division along with the New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, and Dallas Cowboys. The team plays its home games at FedExField in Landover, Maryland.

FedEx Field opened in 1997 as Jack Kent Cooke Stadium. It is an open air stadium, with a capacity of 82,000. Besides the Redskins, FedEx Field has also hosted scores of events such as the College Football Prince George’s Classic and Army-Navy. Additionally it has hosted soccer matches for International Soccer such as the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Washington, DC has a great food scene. Half Smokes (Half pork/half beef sausages) were invented in DC. The best are at Ben’s Chili Bowl which has been around since 1958. Also, DC is known for its Ethiopian food. Many Ethiopian restaurants can be found in the U Street Corridor along 9th street.
