The only Candian-based team in the NBA is the Toronto Raptors. They are a Canadian Professional Basketball team and they compete in the NBA as a member of the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. The Raptors are one of the youngest teams in the NBA, as they were established in 1995 as part of the NBA’s expansion into Canada. The Bulls, the Celtics, the Nets, the Cavaliers, the Pacers, the Heat, the Knicks and the Wizards are constantly fighting to keep out neighbors to the north from taking home the NBA championship title. In the 2019 playoffs, the Raptors won their first Eastern Conference title and advanced to the NBA Finals, where they won their first championship.
The Raptors play their home games at the Scotiabank Arena, that they share with the Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL. Located on Bay Street in Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Scotiabank Arena is a multi-purpose venue that hosts professional and minor league basketball, hockey, lacrosse and arena football. The governing party of the Liberal Party of Canada held their leadership convention at the arena in 2003. In August 2016, the very first video game championship was held at the Scotiabank Arena, it marked the first professional Multiplayer Professional Video Game battle in Canada.
